Have you ever had one of those moments in life where you just knew things needed to change? Maybe you needed to make some major changes concerning your career, a relationship, your health, or just life in general. The decisions we make during these moments of opportunity are crucial.
You might be reading this devotional because you recently decided your spiritual life needed to go in a new direction. If that’s the case, know that’s exactly what getting close to God is all about! God wants to connect with you in a life-altering way; not only will He change your “here and now,” but He’ll change your eternity.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)
John 3:16 speaks of God’s love for us. He does love you even with your flaws, doubts and problems. As the verse says, He loves you so much that He allowed His Son to die for you … and when you put your trust in Him, He forgives all your sins and gives you the ability to enter heaven forever when you die. In other words, you are “saved” from eternal separation from God, and you are granted heaven forever the moment you commit your life to Christ.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 (NIV)
If you haven’t said “Yes!” to Jesus, do it today! Simply call out to God right now, ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and tell Him as of today you are putting your faith in Him and your eternal destination is forever transformed!
