One of the best ways of sharing your “God story” is by obeying God and getting publicly baptized. The word baptize comes from the Greek word baptizo, which means to be dunked or submerged in water. All through the New Testament, we see people deciding to follow Jesus, and then immediately they were instructed to get baptized.
- Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you.” Acts 2:38 (NIV)
- Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. Acts 2:41 (NIV)
- Simon himself believed and was baptized. Acts 8:13 (NIV)
Baptism signifies the old you being washed away; when you come up out of the water, it represents the fact you are a new creation in Christ.
If you’ve said “Yes!” to Jesus, getting baptized is your first opportunity to be obedient. Baptism in the New Testament was always done by submersion in water, and it was always done publicly.
Freedom Life Church offers water baptism at least twice a year. All the information you will need is available at myfreedomlife.tv (click on baptism.)
Tell those close to you about your decision to be baptized, and invite them to be there as you go public with your faith in Jesus. This will be a defining moment in your journey.
There are few acts of obedience that will bring you closer to God than being baptized. It will take you places you haven’t been spiritually, and it will allow you to share your faith with others in the process. It’s a win-win!

VEHICLE No. 6 [SHARING]
Today concludes our daily thoughts about Vehicle No.6: SHARING.
There are few things on this earth that will move you the way watching a loved one receive forgiveness from Jesus Christ will! This is a scary vehicle for all of us to start operating, but you can do this. It doesn’t have to be weird and out of place. You don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not or to know things that you don’t know. It almost always starts with, “I’ll tell you what happened to me,” and then you just let God do the rest. Sharing your faith will change you, it will bring you closer to God, and it just might change somebody else’s eternity.
