Day 06: Route Guidance Enabled

More than 50 million Americans use the Global Positioning System (or GPS) when they travel.  Whether it’s a permanent fixture in our dash, or just held in our hand, every time the route guidance takes over, the hope is that the GPS will take us in the right direction. We simply trust where the device is taking us and assume we’ll arrive at our desired destination. When you put your faith in God and started this journey to get closer to Him, you enabled a new route guidance system for your life. And you can now trust that God is taking you in a new direction,  and it’s going to be nothing short of life-altering. 

Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has  begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) 

When you put your faith in Jesus, you became a different person headed in a different direction.  You may already be sensing that. God is changing your heart, your mind, your passions, your emotions, and your focus in life. This is a good thing. He’s transforming you not only to become more like Jesus but to become the person who can experience the plan He has for you. God’s  Spirit now lives in you, and because He does, the Spirit will push you closer to what the Bible calls  the “fruits of the Spirit.” 

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,  goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT) 

These are characteristics most of us wish actually described our lives. And this is where God is taking you. You’re on the road toward things like love, joy, and authentic peace from God. Keep going. Things are only getting better!

Regardless of how you feel from day to day, you are a brand-new person! Real love, real peace, and real joy are possible for you! This is not just church talk. This is the kind of life God is guiding you toward.
